Why is Health & Safety Important?

By its nature, the construction sector is one of the most hazardous to work in, and accidents often have terrible consequences: the rate of fatal injury in construction is four times higher than in other industries. By making health and safety central to everything we do, Johns continues to both maintain an excellent safety record and protect the health and wellbeing of all our employees.

What Johns Do

Johns undertake a wide variety of types of work encompassing clients and sites of every size, and our projects can last from a single day to a year or more. As we work in different roles on each job, the key to managing safety on site is effective communication of information to the right people.

We are dedicated to providing comprehensive health and safety training for our employees, ensuring they are well equipped to recognise and address potential risks. This commitment not only enhances the safety of our teams but also translates to significant benefits for our clients.

For many years, Johns have operated a Work Safe policy which guarantees to prioritise employee’s safety concerns, giving them the confidence to speak up if they see something that is not as it should be. We also work closely with the largest and most influential construction companies in the UK and collaborate with them on their own safety campaigns and initiatives.

Accreditations

Johns have been awarded industry accreditations which demonstrate our commitment to ensuring the safety of all our workers. We are dedicated to continually improving what we do by regularly auditing our sites and processes and keeping up with the latest industry trends.
